It is amazing how Sun Tzu's 2,500 year old wisdom is relevant to career reorientation today. The basic thinking is that people who are successful are those who firstly have the greater competitive edge and secondly, make fewer mistakes. A competitive edge can depend upon several factors, such as a greater fighting spirit, a positive mindset, superior conception and implementing convincing candidature strategies.
After promotion to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Natural Science Doctorate, ETH), I began my career as Medical Services Manager at the Swiss subsidiary of a leading American pharmaceutical company. Further stages in my career were to be manager of a medical scientific department and manager of Market Development.
1991 saw my entry into human resource management where I assumed leadership of the further training of management across the group at large pharmaceutical concern. From 1996 I had three successful years as an outplacement consultant before taking on, as a member of the company directorate, the responsibility for the entire group personnel management of an internationally active company in the building facilities sector.
During my various activities, I acquired a broad and well-founded knowledge of management and leadership which, as a counsellor, sparring partner, coach and trainer, I would like to hand on for the benefit of successful reorientation
